The new Rita's has just opened up down the road from our studio this week. We'll be sure to pop down there and sample the tasty looking new lunch menu! Make sure you book in advance, it looks set to be a busy one this weekend!
A new Simmons Bar has just opened up in Camden serving delicious cocktails served in tea cups, or tea pots (if your willing to share!). Make some pre-christmas drink plans and don't forget to check out the worlds largest Skull mirror ball!
TWP good friend Plum recommends the 'Pinned It Made It' Christmas crafts and Pinterest party at The Book Club on Monday December 9th. You get to actually make something from Pinterest to take home and keep. Such a cute idea for personalised Christmas pressies! Clear a few hours in your diary and grab a ticket here!
THE WHITEPEPPER Winter Wonderland! December 06 2013
For THE WHITEPEPPER Winter Wonderland Christmas shoot we wanted to bring a little festive cheer to things! We recruited our lovely new model Sasha and headed to the studio to set up our WHITEPEPPER grotto, complete with Christmas tree, tinsel and lots of candy canes!
Christmas is all about sparkle this year, and what's more sparkly than TWP Back Open Sparkle Dress?! Already a big hit with the fashion bloggers out there, it's had a lot of attention since we launched our Winter 13 Collection. Another attention grabber is the gorgeous Velvet Spangle Collar Dress with a detachable gold sequin collar. Perfect for party styling! Some new arrivals also made it to the shoot too, including the Sleeveless Leather Angel Dress Black, Spangle Mini Skirt, Textured Leather Multi Bag and the Bunny Jumper (coming soon!). We hope it's put you in the Christmassy mood, now queue the Christmas tunes and mince pies!!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! November 29 2013
At THE WHITEPEPPER we're obsessed with Hackney based, too cool for school shoe brand Miista. Last time they had a sample sale we raided our wallets and came away clutching amazing one-off designs, so we can't WAIT for a repeat this Saturday's sample sale at Dalston Pier. Get there early and beat us to it!
So good we almost don't want to share it, super-cute Korean restaurant Hurwundeki is tucked in the railway arches of Cambridge Heath road, and just became our fave spot for lunch. We're HIGHLY recommending bibimbap and Samguypsal, plus the rice cakes and dumplings are to die for. OH and you can have your haircut there too, for the ridiculously cheap price of £14!
We have it on good authority that The Nightjar at Old Street is a must for pay-day cocktails, accompanied by a carefully selected tapas and bar snacks. In the words of Another Magazine, The Nightjar has "surpassed other self-proclaimed speakeasies to become the consummate cocktail bar," so go celebrate pay-day in style!
We could have told you all about the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, or Skating at Somerset house, but you probably know all about them already. SO, for something a little less cliched, check out the Bad Christmas Art Exhibition at Boxpark this weekend. All artists were given the same simple breif, "Bad Christmas," so join us to see what they came up with!
THE MAKING OF TWP WINTER '13! November 21 2013
Winter at THE WHITEPEPPER is all about PARTY! A WHITEPEPPER girl needs cute evening dresses and seperates, dreamy jackets to arrive at every event this season in style and yummy (and comfy!) party pumps to dance the night away. We took inspiration from well, all things party, and girls having the time of their lives, to make a collection crammed with shapes and textures for every WHITEPEPPER party girl. Alongside party poppers and balloons, welcome our FIRST EVER jewellery collection, perfect for adding a little something unique to every look.
THE COLLECTION: WE LOVE TEXTURE!
This season we let our imagination run wild, with a collection containing textures galore. You'll find dresses in leather, chiffon, spangle sequin and gold shimmer, plus best-selling embroidery styles from Autumn are back! Textures run wild through daytime separates too, whether it's our embroidered lace-effect crop sleeve blouse, faux-fur mini skirt or spangle crop top there's something to add a little spice to your everyday wardrobe!
TIME FOR PARTY SHOES!
Dance the night away in Dorothy sparkle pumps, pretty platforms and heavy stepping wedges, accessorised with pretty sparkle tights and your fave Winter socks! Look out for pink, the colour of the season, in our Leather round toe walker boot (also available in beige and black), plus in our sparkly sparkle lace-up flat!
THE WHITEPEPPER TEAM PICKS!
"I love the Winter Sheepskin Biker Jacket as it's the perfect blend of Biker Jacket and Winter coat, plus it's super warm and comfortable. For shoes I love the Leather Tread Boot in Black - perfect heel size for everyday wear!"
I'm choosing the Simple Shift Dress in Pink as it's perfect for everyday styling, and looks really cute when layered with a blouse underneath. For shoes it has to be the Leather Platform Loafer in Ivory as I can't live without a platform wedge!
The leopard coat dress is great as it can be worn in two different ways, and the shape and length is perfect for the Winter. Plus, I love the fact the the buttons and collar are black as it makes the coat look more classic. My shoe pick is the simple wedge brogue in grey, they're super simple but are perfect for day or nighttime dressing!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! November 15 2013

So, our official concession launches in Topshop Oxford Circus this Sunday,WAH HOO! Head down to the basement to find key pieces from TWP Winter Collection including Winter Sheepskin Jacket, Angel Dress and many, many more. Have a little browse and get those Christmas presents ready. Oh, and don't forget to say hi to our lovely new team member Laura!
Word on the street is there's a new pop up bar in Dalston called Night Tales. Combining food, cocktails, music and good opening weekend vibes we'll be heading down there to scout it out and have a taste of their Negroni cocktails, naturally!
John Salt has always been a favourite for WHITEPEPPER lady Erica, she can't get enough! Head there this weekend and try out their new November menu with treats such as steak with bloody mary sauce, buttermilk fried chicken and bourbon pecan pie. Mmmmm our mouths are watering already!
Brrr it's definitely starting to get colder! This weekend we suggest a little visit to Prick Your Finger in Bethnal Green. You’ll find knitting paraphernalia, from homespun yarns to upholstery yarns and chunky yarns from their own sheep. It also sells humorous knitted novelties such as knitted cigarette kits and crochet moustache kits, perfect for Movember gifts and stocking up on those Winter woolies!
5 Minutes With Hayley Williams! November 07 2013
We couldn't believe our eyes when Hayley Williams of Paramore placed an order at thewhitepepper.com! Since then, we've developed a mild addiction with her fiery, pop-punk style, not to mention amazingly down-to-earth personality. Plus she loves polka dot, which you may have noticed we do to... We grabbed her between a hectic tour schedule for a quick chat!
TWP: Hi Hayley! Can you tell us what you're up to at the moment?
HW: Paramore just made it to the UK. This leg of the tour starts today with Charli XCX and Eliza & The Bear. I'm so psyched!
TWP: How did you discover THE WHITEPEPPER and what do you love about us?
HW: Through the Nylon Magazine blog. THE WHITEPEPPER is on the more feminine end of my personal fashion spectrum as far as what I like and what I like to wear. The clothes are lovely but I still feel like they have guts... I think that's what makes all these pieces stand out to me. It's not about a tight, sexy version of femininity. It's more like when you were younger and you'd wear a dress and then go play outside, in the mud. I feel like the clothes are youthful, brave and just the right amount of girly for me.
TWP: So you have quite a few polka dot WHITEPEPPER pieces! Would you say polka dot is your signature style?
HW: I can't help myself when it comes to polka dots or stripes. Really, it's a problem.
TWP: Tell us about your favourite WHITEPEPPER piece?
HW: I have the polka dotted big collar dress... The one with coral/orange polka dots. It's my favorite. I'm going to be wearing it in a photo shoot that we have planned in a couple days and I can't wait.
TWP: So we saw you're playing Wembly arena at the end of the month - super exciting! Where are your fave places to hang out when you're in London?
HW: I usually end up in either East London or somewhere around Kensington... there's no in between. It's like I can't decide if I want to be a freakin' royal or a dirty hipster.
TWP WEEKEND: HALLOWEEN SPECIAL! October 31 2013
If you're of the baking inclination and need some Halloween inspiration, or need some professional looking treats for your Halloween party this weekend, then look to Covent Garden based bakery Sweet Couture, who have an amazing range of Halloween specials! Our fave is Cookie Monster, made with crushed Oreo cookies (which we LOVE), and topped with a bloody (eadible) eye-ball for full spook effect. Order online and dig in!
A slightly extravagant choice, but if you want to go all out this Halloween then head to the Artesian bar at the Langham. Officially voted the world's best bar, their cocktails are innovative works of art, and this year their Halloween offering comes in the form of "Acqui Estoy," a mix of tequila, smoky mezcal, shiso and lime, in a skull with rice flowers in the sockets. Wowza. Pricey but impressive.
We say shop, but actually this Halloween you can shop, eat, drink and generally just hang out at Boxpark with spooky themed goings-on from the guys at Cotton's Rhum Shack, face-painting from BeautyMart and freaky deaky nails from Boom Nails! There's also pumpkin carving and dj's, all under one Shoreditch roof.
The Last Tuesday Society is a shop, art gallery and museum in the style of 17th century Wunderkabinett, located right on Mare St! With a huge variety of curiosities including 19th century shrunken heads, taxidermy, narwhal tusks, carnivorous plants and articulated skeletons, it's great for spooky Halloween inspiration. Find out more here!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! October 25 2013
Blogger, foodie, and all round amazing lady Plumdiddlyumcious is back with her super-stylish, super-fun shopping event The Stylist's Rail this weekend!! This time at the swanky Hoxton Hotel, the first 100 to make it down there will get a yummy gin cocktail and "a goodie bag choc-full of treats." Helloooo, we'll have one of each please. Find out more here!
Our pick for this weekend is local Hackney Pizzaria LARDO. Erica gave full thumbs up for the pizza, but the anti pasti and pasta dishes look pretty damn good to us too. OH and the cocktails are brilliant. With breakfast, lunch, dinner and nibbling options, check out the full menu here.
Maria of team WHITEPEPPER's fave London hang-out is The Book Club, which she couldn't belieeeeve we hadn't featured on WP weekend yet! With amazing food and drinks, a club downstairs and even a ping pong table, this place is super fun yet laidback. We love the tongue in cheek "Don't go to Dalston" cocktail!
Shop THE WHITEPEPPER SALE of course! 50% and over off lots of yummy styles. Be quick or miss out on angel dress bargain heaven.
THE WHITEPEPPER 2 Year Birthday & Winter Press Launch! October 24 2013
A little over two weeks ago, we celebrated our TWO YEAR BIRTHDAY! Plus invited press, bloggers, friends and family to exclusively preview our Winter collection! It was an evening to remember with WHITEPEPPER cupcakes, photo booth, cider courtesy of the lovely people at Rekorderlig and goodie bags jam packed with goodies from Baptise, Vita Coco, Goody Good Stuff and Propercorn.
A huuuuuuuuuuuuge ginormous thankyou to everyone who was involved, guests for coming along, and sponsors for providing your lovely products. And the biggest thankyou to our WHITEPEPPER customers! We couldn't have reached two years without you all!
See the full facebook album here!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! October 18 2013
If you feel like spending some hard earned cash this weekend, or you are just super organised and are buying Christmas presents already, then head to The Designer Warehouse Sale near Finsbury Park this weekend. Boasting top designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Chole you had better get those rummaging elbows ready!
Drink Shop & Do are holding a 90's throwback rave tonight. 90's rave we hear you say? YES! Complete with Spice Girls, scrunchies and even the chance to customise your own visor, what's not to love?!
When we're not stuffing our faces full of noodles here at THE WHITEPEPPER we love a nibble of cheese! We will definitely be heading down to the Cheese and Wine Festival at the Southbank centre this weekend to sample all the free delights. Mmmmm...
London Film Festival will be in full swing by this weekend! If you haven't been down to your local cinema already this week we'd recommend trying your luck for Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson as an alien seductress... need we say more.
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! October 04 2013
A quite weekend is in order after the hectic week we've had here at TWP studio! We're going to head down to the Bookshop on Broadway Market for some weekend reading must-haves!
We've heard about a new restaurant that has just opened up this week in the Ace Hotel called Hoi Polloi. The food looks delicious, and not a bad price either. A visit to check it out is definitely in order this weekend!
The V&A have just opened a new exhibition showcasing the creative explosion of London fashion from the 1980's club scene. It looks like a great way to get a few style tips for future nights out, we might leave out the leg warmers though!
This week THE WHITEPEPPER's Yeon recommends the Sebright Arms for it's selection of London's Microbrewers as well as a few gems from other craft brewers around the country. We'd recommend heading there Friday night to see The Ravines, a band that bring together both electronic and acoustic music with likeness of Massive Attack and Fleetwood Mac. A definite winner in our books!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! September 27 2013
Last year there seemed to be an explosion of clothes swapping events which has recently fizzled out (probably replaced by Cronuts). For those of you who've been left stranded, get down to The Grafton in Kentish town this Saturday for the SwapAholicsUK "swap don't shop" event! Get new stuff, spend no money. Ideal!
Trof a la plage! The name alone makes us want to go. And the event is even better. This Saturday at Beach London £20 gets you a cocktail, 4 hotdogs, (sorry, "Artisanal Foodbomb Hot Dogs") and some sweet treats. AND it's bring your own drinks! Which is always a plus at THE WHITEPEPPER.
Netil House's sister site Hackney Downs is hosting a new gallery as of Thursday September 26th. THE WALL / BOUNDARIES showcases up to 30 new works from local artists and members of the community. RSVP to the guys at Hackney Downs to attend the opening night private view with dj's and drinks!
WHITEPEPPER Yeon is this week recommending Indo, a small and quirky bar at 133 Whitechapel Road. Why? Because the wine is cheap and the pizza is yummy. Simple! Oh and they're open until 3am at weekends, so perfect for late-night drinks in a bar not clubby atmosphere.
LFW Round Up! September 25 2013
WHAT THE WHITEPEPPER LOVED
As ever, London Fashion Week was a perfect display of the city's creative and eclectic spirit, with shows and presentations to leave New York, Paris and Milan gasping for breath. This year, Stella McCartney enlisted synchronised swimmers (plus athletes and gymnasts) to display her collection for Adidas, showing the functionality of the pieces. In the designers own words, " well it's not the sort of thing you usually see at fashion week, is it?"
Playing with gravity was also a trend at Anya Hindmarch, who suspended dancers and handbags from high wires above the catwalk, and speaking of bags, our fave accessory by far was Ashish's glitzed up Tesco carrier bag. Covered in sequins yet still oh so grungy-cool. Equally as fantastic were Ashley William's shark bag, and the lizard bag at Christopher Raeburn. With the usual added dose of outrageous street style down at Somerset house, London Fashion Week proved London's still got it.
TREND ALERT: GRAPHIC FLORALS
Floral print was all over the catwalks this year, given a modern update by way of graphic motifs and 3D blooms. We loved Christopher Kane's jumper skirt combos, and were wowed by Mary Katrantzou's jewel encrusted 3D posies!
Get the look with THE WHITEPEPPER Graphic Floral Dress! http://www.thewhitepepper.com/products/graphic-floral-dress £55.00
OUR MODEL CRUSH: GIGI JEON
Spotted all over the LFW catwalks and looking effortlessly cool between shoes was our favourite model of the moment, Korean Gigi Jeon. Signed with NEXT London and Paris, this season she walked for Christopher Raeburn, Lucas Nascimento, Holly Fulton and everyone's favourite, Simone Rocha. THE WHITEPEPPER <3's!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! September 20 2013
Maria of THE WHITEPEPPER loves Hub on Broadway Market for it's boutique size, relaxed environment and nice selection of brands with a good heritage. Which we think sums up Hub perfectly. With three stores dotted around East London, Hub is perfect for a post-brunch Saturday shop. We love their website too, check out "Hub Highlights" for a dose of cool.
We first tried Machete's yummy cocktails in Dalston, but hadn't realised they've set up shop just down the road from us at Victoria Park. Great for Friday night cocktails! Although not so great for Saturday morning. Machete is 91 Lauriston Road, E9 7HJ. The food is amazing too!
Speaking of Saturday morning hangovers, we're itching to try breakfast at Leila's Shop. TIME OUT this week recommended the fried eggs and Serrano ham, and with a grocery shop next door, we're planning on stocking up ready for a lazy post-LFW weekend. Find Leila's at 15-17 Calvert Ave, E2 7JP.
We took a trip to the Southbank this week to see the fantastic RIOT at the National Theatre. "An epic tale of violence, greed and cheap sofas," this play kept us on the edge of our seats all evening with stellar performances from a brilliant cast. If you can get a ticket (they're selling like hotcakes), then do, because it's brilliant. More info here.
Show Report: CHRISTOPHER RAEBURN September 18 2013
Previous Winner of the Menswear Emerging Talent award, this season marked Christopher Raeburn's first showing of womenswear on the BFC catwalk, with prime positioning in the BFC show space at Somerset house. THE WHITEPEPPER loved the Raeburn lizard, this seasons mascot, seen everywhere from the translucent camouflage textile invite, show credit sheet, and bright blue bag in the accessories collection.
The show opened with a Mirage, described by Dazed and Confused as "a hazy rose-tinted desert landscape film" by Pablo Jones-Soler and Bradley Bell of White Lodge, perfectly establishing the desert landscape aesthetic of the collection.
With references to Victorian cartography, maps and ordnance surveys, the Mirage collection continued the desert theme seen in Christopher Raeburn's SS14 Menswear collection, again reinterpreting parachute and military fabrics, remaining true to the brand's 'Remade' ethos.
Raeburn describes this ethos as "a reminder to always be resourceful and experimental," and this collection explored the notion of desert protection, with Bomber jackets in a sporty textured mesh and quilted fabric, designed to resemble sand dunes and made from a thermally efficient recycled material. What's great about Christopher Raeburn is how this environmentally conscious aspect never detracts from the pieces, with effortlessly cool signature styles such as the parachute and bomber jackets played out in soft feminine silhouettes, with oversized pocket detail which we at THE WHITEPEPPER always leap at.
Our highlights were the sandy toned track pants, shorts and button-down shirts, perfectly accessorised with matching clutch bags, featured for the first time in Raeburn's accessories range. We also loved the purses which hung from strings around the models' necks, and couldn't get enough of how clever developing the lizard silhouette into a repeating print on macs, bags and jackets was.
British Vogue called this "An exciting step in a more sophisticated direction," and we thought this collection was the perfect clash of svelte yet wearable. Basically we wanted everything there. Immediately.
We were so honored and excited to loan THE WHITEPEPPER Chunky Heel Sandal to the team at Christopher Raeburn for use in the show, and loved seeing how amazing they looked reworked with textured print fabric to sit with the collection. And they got some great press reaction, with WWD making them their London shoe of the day! Our chunky heel sandal also made ELLE magazines LFW shoe edit, and Fashion Features editor Jessica Bumpus at British Vogue loved them too "we're eyeing up those clompy sandals in particular."
So huge congratulations to the team at Christopher Raeburn, and Amy at Exposure for all their hard work on an amazing show, and thanks again for letting us be involved!

THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! September 13 2013
It's that time already, London Fashion Week is BACK! This year the British Fashion Council are hosting a pop-up shop at Somerset house, bursting full of AW13 ready to wear, shoes and accessories, featuring brands including Markus Lupfer, Bella Freud, Sophia Webster, Prism, DJ by Dominic Jones, Zoe Jordan, Lulu & Co. and WHITEPEPPER fave House of Holland. Perfect excuse to shop whilst soaking up the fashion week atmosphere.
We were super exited to hear that Jubo are opening their first ever restaurant at Bedroom bar in Shoreditch! Hello late night Korean fried chicken, steamed buns and kimchi!
If you don't fancy trotting down to Somerset House, the Hoxton hotel are offering something a little different to fuel your fashion week needs, by way of an exhibition of photographs from Kristin Sinclair, taking you through fashion weeks over the last 8 years. Get exclusive access to backstage, front row, catwalk and street style fashion weeks around the globe, whilst avoiding the rain (and street style desperados).
The cold has slowly but surely crept in this week, signalling that Summer's almost over. We're hoping to squeeze in one more "drinks outside" night, so we're heading down to Frank's in Peckham for rooftop vibes. (With added jackets this time).
NYFW TREND ALERT: THE BUTTON-UP SHIRT September 11 2013
Clockwise from centre: White button-downs at Alexander Wang, Marissa Webb, Prabal Gurung and Victoria Beckham. Images courtesy of Vogue.com
New York Fashion week isn't over until tomorrow, but already a clear trend is stomping down almost every SS14 catwalk. Cue the re-invention of the button-down shirt.
Designers Peter Som and Max Azria both said a plain white button-down shirt is their favorite thing to see on a woman, and Lucky magazine editor Eva Chen confirmed that white button-downs, or versions of, were all over the runways, proving them "nothing if not wearable." Elsewhere on the catwalk, Prabal Gurung switched up the classic oxford white shape, showing a seemingly simple crisp white shirt which then revealed an open back clear plastic harness feature, re-enforcing his aesthetic of "Feminity with a bite."
Some designers showed it stiff and formal, others such as DVF left their button-down loose and slightly oversized, but one thing was clear; it was always clean, crisp and simple, never over complicated by necklaces or adornments as in previous seasons. This time the shirt does the talking.

THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! September 06 2013
It's been a busy week at THE WHITEPEPPER, with departures (bye lauren sob sob!) and new arrivals (HELLO Erica!), planning our Winter lookbook shoot, editorial trips and general WHITEPEPPER mayhem. So we had to keep things local. Here's what we've been up to.
Two course lunch menu for £5.95 you say? Just round the corner from our studio you say!? Say no more. Ephesus on Broadway Market is perfect for yummy turkish food with tables in the sun. Pefect for easy breezy lunches.
The circus is in town! Roll up Roll up to Mimbre Circus Company, who are putting on their first ever festival this very weekend! With a jam packed schedule of performances, workshops and activities, all of which is FREE, make it your Saturday plan. Find out all about it on their website! http://www.mimbre.co.uk
The American Apparel factory store is back in London until September 15th, which means this weekend is the last opportunity to really get stuck in. Located at Old Truman Brewery, it's perfect for soaking up some Brick Lane market atmosphere too.
After a long week we're thinking cocktails are in order. The Dead Dolls club's Dalston manor has a perfect Friday night atmosphere, and Erica recommends the Lady of The Manor cocktail every time. See the full menu right here http://www.thedeaddollsclub.com/The_Dead_Dolls_Club/dalston.html
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! August 30 2013
If you haven’t heard of the cronut and the chaos it’s been known to cause, prepare to be impressed. Half donut, half croissant a bakery in NY originally unleashed this fury and its popularity hasn’t slowed down. With imitations popping up worldwide, we’re keen to try Whitechapel’s very own ‘Crodough’ at Rinkoff Bakery.
The Climpson Arches has long been a summer favourite for us at THE WHITEPEPPER. Coffee roasters by day, bar and eatery by night. Combined, its everything we love! Its large outdoor space means we can soak up the sun as long as we can with a drink in hand. We’re (obviously) big fans of their bottle of ‘When Friday Comes’ (Le Lesc Blanc, Apple, Tarragon and Peach). Find out opening hours here http://www.climpsonandsons.com/pages/the-arch
Nothing is quite as intimidating as the idea of shopping in Central on a weekend. That’s why we’re ever so grateful for markets! Still a newbie in the market game, Chatsworth rd is one to check out if you’re still a little tender from Saturday night but need to get out of the house for some visual stimulation.
By now I’m sure you all know how we here at THE WHITEPEPPER feel about street food. That’s why we’re so happy to be visiting Urban Food Fest in Shoreditch this weekend! With stalls set up from favourites like Streetza Pizza and Burger Bear, be sure to wash it down with a glass of prosecco, because why not? Find out more here http://www.urbanfoodfest.com/#1
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! August 23 2013
If you want delicious, authentic Carribean food then look no further than Peppers & Spice on Balls Pond Road. Rotating their menu daily, you can be sure that there are always ample mains and sides on offer whichever day you go. Don’t worry; their infamous jerk chicken is available any day of the week. Try their Callaloo pattie too!
A bar that revolves around the West Indies biggest export, Cottons Rhum Shack serves up 250 types of our favourite liquor. Made to replicate the Caribbean’s ‘rum shops’ you can find on many beaches, this bar serves as a mini getaway (or a sure push to save) in the heart of Shoreditch.
Here at THE WHITEPEPPER we’re feeling generous on this sunny Carnival weekend! We want to share the good vibes so we’re offering FREE standard shipping worldwide when you shop at www.thewhitepepper.com The offer ends September 2nd after the party is over, so get in quick!
If there is one thing you should be doing this weekend, its heading west to experience everything that is Carnival. A celebration of all things Carribean, take in everything from the flamboyant floats, dancers, street food and the dancing crowd. You can’t help but get swept up in it all!
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! August 15 2013
We love hearing about new and exciting eateries popping up around Hackney. Smokey Tails is the latest, and it looks like a real treat. Offering up delicious smoked meats, mouthwatering salads and frozen cocktails we don’t think we will be able to fault it. With picnic tables overlooking the River Lea, we just hope the weather matches our mood! Find out more here https://www.facebook.com/SmokeyTails
At THE WHITEPEPPER, we love nothing more than to relax with a drink as soon as 6pm comes on a Friday night. If you’re seeking an after work drink on a (much) bigger scale, head to the London Craft Beer Festival at the Oval Space in Bethnal Green. Serving our icy cold favourite, Brewdog IPA we can’t wait until Friday evening rolls around. Get tickets here http://www.londoncraftbeerfestival.co.uk/tickets/
Right opposite our studios is The Pit, a pop-up boutique festival we’ve been meaning to check out for a few weeks now. By day, it’s a family friendly venue serving up the best food and drinks in a unique environment (you’ll know what we mean when you see it). By night, it hosts a variety of live bands and dj’s! We’ll be in for the long haul…
Been looking for the perfect summer print but haven’t quite found it? House of Hackney is your answer! A visual wonder, this shop displays nothing but the best prints in an unimaginable amount of products. Everything from dresses to lampshades, our dream is to deck out everything we own in House of Hackney. Take a look for yourself here http://www.houseofhackney.com/index.php/
THE WHITEPEPPER WEEKEND! August 09 2013
Here at THE WHITEPEPPER we’re big on Vietnamese lunches. Spoiled for choice on Mare Street, Namô, a little gem located by Victoria Park stood out for its modern twist on Vietnamese. The food is fresh and tasty; you won’t leave feeling like you need to roll to your next destination. Eat in the outdoor garden if the weather holds up! http://www.namo.co.uk/menu.htm
We’ve been meaning to visit The Spurstowe Arms, a local of ours for a while now. Located on the other side of London Fields, it’s meant to be a good drinking hole any day of the week. Decked out with taxidermy and a sizeable beer garden, this sounds like a great place to wind down (or up) after Visions festival.
Right on THE WHITEPEPPER’s doorstep this weekend is Visions festival. A day packed full of music spread over three venues around London Fields, we have good word to check out Iceage and Kirin J Callinan. Be prepared for a workout trying to cram all of these great acts in! See the full line up here http://visionsfestival.com/programme
Big Exclusive News! THE WHITEPEPPER are one of the specially chosen brands who will be showcased in Topshop’s pop-up market in Oxford Circus! As of this coming Sunday August 11th, our collection will be live in store so you can try on all of your favourite items and take them home. If you didn’t get the chance to come to any of our Open Door events, now is your chance to try us on for yourself!
THE WHITEPEPPER Autumn '13! August 05 2013
Our long-awaited Autumn '13 collection just landed! We can't wait to tell you all about it!
For Fall, we took inspiration from all things square; architectural structures, pixels, grids and rubix cubes, and checks of every variety. For a sometimes tricky transitional season, we worked with volume to create pieces which work just as perfectly with opaque tights as with bare end-of-Summer legs! In designing THE WHITEPEPPER's first ever shoe collection, we echoed the clean and square lines of our inspiration boards for styles such as the Indian cut-out brogue, whilst adding clunky contrast into the mix with our signature chunky heels.
Whether shopping for a new season look, everyday city styling, or simply a WHITEPEPPER Autumn update, Autumn '13 has something for every WHITEPEPPER girl; 21 delicious clothing pieces to team with a 16-piece strong footwear collection. We've introduced some brand new silhouettes for Autumn, such as our drop waist jersey dress, and back open midi dress, whilst playing with brand new textures, fabrics and colours too! We loved using new colours for Autumn! Alongside our signature black and white gingham check is a new berry tone which screams Autumn, seen in our updated button-cuff angel dress and twin set, and contrasting with a more graphic check used in the back open check midi dress. And because we can never resist a twin set, you can mix and match our leather midi skirt and jacket with its counterpart crop shirt and midi skirt in check!
Our signature Angel dress has been updated with a new button-cuff sleeve fastening, and due to popular demand, brought back in polka dot! But we havn't stopped there - also available in classic black, black leather, berry toned check, or a super-cute textured embroidery, in black with white or cream with navy colourways!
Perhaps the MOST exciting news of all is that this collection also sees the FIRST, EVER, premium shoe collection from THE WHITEPEPPER! We've re-created some of our previous favourite styles in a premium leather, and introduced new boots and flats for instant wardrobe updates!
THE WHITEPEPPER TEAM PICKS!
Getting everyone to chose one clothing and one footwear style wasn't easy, but here's what we eventually narrowed it down to!
"I love the Leather Midi Skirt (and Biker Jacket!) as the fabric is so unusual, and looks really edgy. For shoes I love the Mary Jane Platforms in White - perfect for making your legs super long and thin!"
"The Chunky heel sandals in Black have the perfect heel to make them wearable everyday, and black would be my colour of choice! I love the Oversized leather biker jacket as it has the perfect boxy shape that makes any outfit instantly cool."
"I love the Back Open Check Midi dress because I've got a soft spot for tartan when its done right. Its the perfect shape and the pattern gives it a certain edge. Never seen anything like it! I chose the Leather Chunky Heel sandal because I'm a sucker for a chunky heel. I never usually go for white, but I think for the summer these are bright and refreshing. They look so good with a coloured sock too!"
